Walking sticks that feel as good as they look
Since 2006 we have designed walking sticks for women who use them every day and want something better than grey. Every Cool Crutches walking stick has a handle moulded to the left or right hand, a soft removable neoprene grip and a shock absorbing ferrule that keeps each step quiet. Our customers rate us 4.9 out of 5.
Choosing a walking stick: height and sizing
Our standard walking sticks adjust to suit users from 4ft 10in (149cm) to 6ft 4in (193cm). Stand tall in your everyday shoes with your arms relaxed by your sides. The top of the handle should sit level with the crease of your wrist. A lower clip locks your chosen height in place, so there is no rattling once it is set.
Left or right hand?
Most people hold a walking stick in the hand opposite the side that needs more support. Our handles are shaped for each hand, so choose the hand you will hold it in. If you are not sure, our mobility quiz will recommend one for you.
A lightweight walking stick that is built to last
Each standard stick weighs 432g and supports up to 150kg (23.5st). It splits into two parts for packing, and the longest part is 69cm, so it fits in most suitcases. Every stick comes with a wrist strap, so it can hang from your wrist when you need both hands.
Walking sticks for balance and everyday confidence
A walking stick gives you an extra point of contact with the ground, which helps you feel steadier on uneven pavements, slopes and steps. The ferrule (the rubber tip) matters as much as the stick. Ours are shock absorbing and grip well on wet ground. For icy or rough ground, see our ferrules.
Standard or folding walking stick?
A standard stick is the sturdiest choice if you use one all day. If you only need support some of the time, or want one that fits in a bag, choose a folding walking stick.
Walking sticks UK: in every style
Choose plain walking sticks in black, navy, purple and pink, or stand out with patterns and prints, glitter and diamanté. You can also design your own personalised walking stick.
Looking after your walking stick
The neoprene grip is machine washable. Check the ferrule every few months and replace it when the tread wears smooth. All our ferrules are 19mm and fit every Cool Crutches stick.
