Crutches that feel as good as they look
Cool Crutches has designed forearm crutches since 2006 for women who use them every day. Each crutch has a moulded handle, a soft removable neoprene grip and a shock absorbing ferrule that keeps every step quiet, in designs you will actually want to be seen with. Our customers rate us 4.9 out of 5.
Elbow crutches, forearm crutches or underarm crutches?
Elbow crutches and forearm crutches are the same thing: a crutch with a cuff that sits around your forearm, just below the elbow. They give you more control and freedom than underarm crutches, and they are the usual choice if you use crutches for longer. All of our crutches are forearm crutches with a closed arm cuff.
Choosing the right crutch height
Our crutches adjust to suit users from 4ft 10in (149cm) to 6ft 4in (193cm). Stand tall with your arms relaxed by your sides, and set the handle level with the crease of your wrist. A push to release clip locks the height, so there is no clicking once it is set. The arm cuff should sit a few centimetres below your elbow.
A single crutch or a pair?
Every design comes as a left crutch, a right crutch or a pair. Choose a single crutch if you need lighter support on one side, or a pair for more support. Each handle is moulded to the hand that holds it. Not sure? Our mobility quiz will recommend the right option.
Lightweight and strong
Each crutch weighs 730g and supports up to 150kg (23.5st). Every crutch separates into three parts for packing, and the longest part is 78cm, so it fits in a suitcase.
Ferrules and grips
The ferrule is the rubber tip, and it is where comfort starts. Ours are shock absorbing and grip on wet ground. For extra grip, upgrade to High Performance ferrules. Every crutch arrives with a soft, latex free neoprene grip, and you can add cuff covers and padded grips.
Crutches in every style
Choose plain crutches in black, navy, pink and purple, or stand out with patterned crutches, glitter and diamanté. You can also design your own personalised crutches.
Looking after your crutches
The neoprene grips are machine washable, though they wear with everyday use, so replace them over time. Check your ferrules every few months and change them when the tread wears smooth. Any 19mm ferrule fits.

FAQs
Are elbow crutches the same as forearm crutches? Yes. Both names describe a crutch with a cuff around the forearm, below the elbow. All Cool Crutches are forearm crutches.
How do I adjust the height of my crutches? Press the clip, slide the inner pole to the right hole and let the clip click back into place. The handle should sit level with the crease of your wrist.
Can I buy a single crutch? Yes. Every design comes as a left crutch, a right crutch or a pair.
How much weight can your crutches take? Each crutch supports up to 150kg (23.5st) and weighs 730g.
Are your crutches silent? Yes. A push to release clip locks the height and our shock absorbing ferrules stop the clicking common with standard crutches.
Can I take crutches on holiday? Yes. Each crutch splits into three parts to pack in a suitcase, and most airlines let you keep them with you. Read our tips for travelling on crutches.
